Seller: ulric2 (503) 100%, Location: Grimsby, Ships to: Worldwide, Item: 192720254896 This is an illuminated leaf from a Breviary that was produced in France, probably Paris because of the quality of the script and decoration. The text on other leaves would indicate that the Breviary was probably made for use in Burgundy. The text here is from the Temporal and consists of lections etc to be read on days following the Octave of Epiphany. There is also a rubric relating to “after the Octave of the Feast of the Purification. The size of the leaf is 182/185mm x 125/127mm (7 3/10ins. x 5ins.).ILLUMINATION AND DECORATIONTen two-line colours and highly burnished gold. Please be aware of the condition of this item. What you can see in the pictures is what the winning bidder will receive. This is a superb leaf in every respect with virtually no age related wear, on a very fine vellum, written by a very accomplished scribe and with first class illumination. It must have been a very expensive production because the two-line initials are of such high quality. Payment by Paypal please.STANDARD SHIPPING INCLUDING INSURANCE: - UK - £7, REST OF THE WORLD- £12. In the event that actual costs are greater, no extra will be charged. Insights Exclusive
